Matthew Delly
A Rochester native, Matt graduated from Aquinas Institute. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology from Hartwick College in 1998, where he lettered in both football and baseball. It was in 1993 that Matt was first exposed to the turf industry, here at Monroe Golf Club. He worked on the grounds crew at Monroe for four summers. He completed a formal internship at Oak Hill CC in 1999, and earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science and Turf grass Management at SUNY Delhi in 2000. Matt landed the assistant superintendent position at Crag Burn Golf Club, in East Aurora, NY, fresh out of turf school. He spent nearly five seasons there, and moved to Central New York, where he secured his first head superintendent position at The Country Club of Syracuse in 2004. In the fall of 2006, he returned home to the Monroe Golf Club. Matt is very involved with continuing his education and is currently working towards becoming a Certified Golf Course Superintendent. His hobbies include golf, hunting, baseball, flag football, cooking and spending quality time with his daughter Madeline.
