Short Course
“Yours is surely one of the greatest Ross courses I have ever seen. I am aware of other Ross courses of greater renown than Monroe yet only know of one that is its match–and Pinehurst No. 2 had the distinct advantage of being the winter home of Ross for four decades.” - Brian Silva, Past President, American Golf Architects Association
Designed by the legendary Donald Ross, Monroe Golf Club has remained largely unchanged for over three-quarters of a century. From it’s tree-lined fairways, to forbidding hazards, to small greens, Monroe presents a challenge to golfers of any level. And as it’s built on sandy loam, the course enjoys outstanding drainage, remaining playable after even the heaviest rainstorms.
Each June, the Club plays host to The Monroe Invitational Championship, featuring America’s top collegiate and amateur players. Since 1937, this prestigious tournament has featured a number of golf’s biggest names, including Tiger Woods, Jeff Sluman, and Jim Furyk.
In addition to our spectacular main 18-hole course, Monroe Golf Club offers a complete golf training and practice facility.

• Short-game practice area for short wedge shots, chipping and sand play
