Member Events

Members enjoy a wide variety of fun & exciting golf events throughout the season.

  • Men's Golf
    • Ladder

      Season long, double elimination, match play event

      • Format: Two-Man Better-Ball of Partners (full handicap off the low ball)

      Men’s League

      Thursday nights – mid-May through September

      • Format: Two-Man teams. Team and individual nine hole matches off the low ball, Tee off from 4:30-6:00pm, 112 players

      Men’s Guest Days

      One Tuesday per month, May, June, August and September
      • Format: Two Best-Balls of Four, 90% Handicap
      • Eligibility: Certificate and Junior Golf members. Member brings one or three guests

      Men’s Loafer’s Events

      Two Thursdays per month. 9 holes at 9:30 a.m. off #10 tee
      • Format: Low individual net scores for 9
      • Eligibility: Certificate members, generally retired members; although, not required

      Men’s Opening Day

      Friday before Derby Day

      • Format: Two-Man Better-Ball (handicaps at 90%), Brad Klein, "Golfweek" Golf Architecture Editor, Featured dinner speaker
      • Eligibility: Certificate and Junior Golf members only. Member-Member or Member Guest Teams 

      Men’s Derby Day

      1st Saturday in May
      •  Format: Two-Man Chapman Scotch (80% of 1/2 of combined handicaps)
      • Eligibility: Member-Member teams only

      Men’s June Member-Member

      2nd weekend in June
      • Format: Two day, two-man net best-ball (90% handicap). Members Only.

      Men’s Swatfest

      Saturday of July 4th weekend
      • Format: Four-man scramble teams, paired by handicap
      • Eligibility: Certificate and Junior Golf members only

      Men’s Invitational

      fourth full weekend of July 
      • Format: Three day, two-man net best-ball match play (90% handicap).Six nine hole matches in flights of six teams each
      • Eligibility: Certificate and Junior Golf members only and their guests
      • Entry: Includes lunches, refreshments on course, Friday stag dinner,Saturday awards, tournament gift and prizes

      Men’s Championship

      Labor Day weekend

      Championship Flight - qualifier weekend preceding Labor Day
      • Format: 36 hole qualifier at scratch (no handicap).
      • Defending Champion seeded #1 plus top 15 qualifiers
      • Championship played at match play single eliminatio
      • Eligibility: Certificate, Junior Golf members and junior golfers with a 10 or less handicap

      Handicap Flights - no qualifier, flights determined by handicap
      • Format: Match play, full handicap off the low ball, single elimination
      • Eligibility: Certificate and Junior Golf members only

      Men’s Seniors' Championship

      2nd or 3rd Thursday in September
      • Format: Individual gross winner by age division, plus net prizes
      • Eligibility: Certificate and Junior Golf members only

      Men’s George Vatke Memorial

      1st Saturday in October
      • Format: Two-Man net best-ball (90% handicap)
      • Eligibility: Certificate and Junior Golf members only

      Men’s Fall Classic

      last Saturday in October

      • Format: Two-Man net best ball (90% handicap). Member-Member or Member-Guest Teams
      • Eligibility: Certificate and Junior Golf members only and their guests

  • Junior Golf

      Imagine the Possibilities for Your Children  

    • Your child makes great friends at Monroe (friends for life). Your child gets excited about the game you love so much.
    • Your child becomes skilled at a game of a lifetime filled with fun, camaraderie, and friendly competition.
    • Your child earns the privilege to play golf on their own by earning a Red tag.
    • Your child decides to play golf regularly before they graduate (and before you have to pay greens fees).
    • Sooner or later almost everyone plays golf. Why not encourage your child now.
    • How many times have you said to yourself: “I wish I had starting playing at a younger age.”
    • Give your child that opportunity this season.

      Make These Dreams a Reality 

    • Play Monroe’s outstanding short course anytime – no restrictions on availability (except for junior programs).
    • Take them out on the big course for 3 holes and an ice cream 
    • Take advantage of Monroe’s junior programs!

      How to Earn a Red Tag 

    • Average 65 or better from the red tees.
    • Pass a basic rules and etiquette test 
    • The Benefit: drop your child off at the club so they can play the course on their own.

      Saturday Clinics 

    • May, June, July and August
    • Weekly clinics will be divided up into age groups.
    • Golf Professionals will spend an hour each week with their group focusing on all aspects of the game.
    • The clinics are designed to support the importance of a solid short game and its relationship to a students overall play.

      Junior Tour School

    • Held in late June
    • The three-day Junior Tour School is designed for our Red Tag boys and girls. Emphasis is on short game, practice skills, how
    • to prepare for tournaments, the Rules of Golf and having fun while learning the game. Plenty of playing time.
    • 9:00am-2:00pm
    • Limited to Red Tag players only
    • Includes lunch daily, tee prizes, training aids and instruction.

      All Sports Camp I (Full Day) 

    • Held in early July
    • Three-day, full-day, school with emphasis on golf along with lots of playing time, tennis lessons and swimming. Lunch included.
    • Ages 8-17
    • 9:00am – 3:00pm

      All Sports Camp II (Half Day)

    • Held in late July
    • Three days of instruction and games providing an introduction to golf, tennis and swimming. 
    • Great fun for children ages of 6-12. 
    • Camp times: 8:30am-12:00pm. 
    • Ages 6-14

      Junior Championship

    • Held in mid-August

      Parent-Child Championship

    • Held in early August

    • Notes: Children of Social Members and grandchildren of members are eligible for all camps.
